Music Magazine Proposal
- I will be looking to aim my magazine at general 'Muse' readers but especially male students aged roughly between 18-25 due to my magazine being a MOD special. this means it will have key features to relate it to a MOD theme, such as bands, style, articles etc.
- For cover lines, I would use something quite witty to interest an audience and maybe something to suggest a London/British theme as MOD represents this. I would obviously have to research this and make of this on my blog as reference and research. I think this would be successful as you want something eye catching to catch the audiences eye.
- Colour schemes would have to be relevant to the theme so typical red white and blue are traditional MOD colours but also relate to the London/British theme that I want to keep running through. Fonts would have to be bold and from research I can see that capitalism is very well used and received by mainstream music magazines.
- My magazine could be released at any time of the year, but maybe with the Olympics coming up in 2012, which is a big thing for Britain, I could release my magazine then to remind my audience in the music sense, what great MOD artists we have released such as The Beatles, Oasis, The Jam, etc.
- My main image will be based on research and will be a close up of a males head which is represents this alpha male sort of feel which I have seen used promptly on many covers which gives the right feel to the magazine, and with the MOD theme comes this feel of aggression and interrogation which I think this would perceive,
- On the contents page, I would think about using different photos to the one on the main cover but maybe the same person so will still have that link but to also keep the same colour scheme so we know both pages are from the same magazine and also the same music magazine logo. The double page sread would also keep the same colour scheme but will be slightly different as it will be an article based on a gig review.
Photoshoot.
Below are the pictures I took on 4 sepreate occasions, and these shown below are a collaboration of the photos I used and didn't use.

These are proposed flat plans that I will use as a guideline when starting to construct my magazine pages.
Front Page First Draft
Below is a screen shot of my front page first draft.
I think that this was successful as I have a good photograph as my main image that i think will catch the readers eye and that the MOD theme is still being pursued with the colour scheme and the main image supporting this. The cover lines also suggest a MOD issue with the mention of the Gallagher Brothers but i could look at this to see IF i could take this further next time. Also I don't know whether the subtitle "Sex, Drugs & Rock&Roll" is too explicit for a magazine.
If I were you, I’d get on to their Facebook or Twitter page now, and check out when they’re playing near you next. I can guarantee you a good night out, with some excellent live music. I can also recommend looking out for MOJO DOLLAR if you’re a particular British 60’s music man.

Contents Page First Draft
Below is my first draft of my contents page.
I like my picture that I have chosen for my contents age because the lamppost in the middle gives me a good guideline to line my cover lines up against. I also think that both pictures that have been selected compliment each other and that the colour scheme reflects the MOD theme that I'm trying to create. The one thing that I am thinking about changing is the logo as I don't think that it fits in with the synergy of the rest of the contents.
Contents Page Second Draft
Below is my second draft of my contents page whih is where I have updated the logo so it fits in more with the synergy of the rest of the page. I think this was successful as I have taken away the only black part of the page on the logo and stuck to the red and white which is much more in keeping to the rest of the page.

Double Page Spread - First Draft Gig Review
At 8pm on Friday 27th January 2012, I was lucky enough to attend and witness currently the greatest tribute band in the UK at Portsmouth’s Wedgewood Rooms. “OASISH” who are currently touring all around the UK are known to be the closest thing to an Oasis experience than the real thing, and since the real deal have split up, you don’t have much more choice them to come and see these boys. I met up with “Liam” and “Noel” Gallagher before the show who said “It’s been a while since we’ve been back down to the south, especially Portsmouth, but we know some of our greatest fans are down here, so you know, thought we’d pop down and give something back to them.”
“OASISH”’s support act “MOJO DOLLAR” warmed up the crowd for 45 minutes with classic 60’s tunes that really got the audience pumped up before the main act. With songs from The Who, The Beatles, The Bee Gee’s and The Hollies, this up-tempo band really was a good support act to have before “OASISH”. The drummer, Nathan Hill who’s from Portsmouth, said “It’s an honor to support OASISH after being such a fan of Liam and Noel myself as a kid and knowing how good they are. So we need to get the audience buzzing before the big boys come out to play”. In my opinion, Nathan’s drumming by far stole the show for MOJO DOLLAR. His technique and quickness was amazing and ending the set with his drumming solo was top notch. I’d even say he was better than “OASISH”’s drummer.
Although “OASISH”’s front men, who refused to give me their real name and convinced me they really were Liam and Noel, totally mesmerized the audience, even “Noel”, when “Liam” left the stage to take five minutes, played his own songs such as “Don’t look back in anger” and “Half the world away”. “Liam” built up such suspense with the audience, which left them wanting more. He wore a traditional Pretty Green parka, John Lennon style glasses, topped with a pair of desert boots and totally played up to the Liam Gallagher persona which the audience were totally enchanted by and giving in too.
They played all the classics that you would have expected them too such as “Wonderwall” “She’s Electric” “Supersonic” “Rock and Roll Star” “Roll With It” and many many more. I would never have labeled these as covers as what I said in the beginning as true, this was the closest you were going to get the real Oasis playing live and “OASISH” certainly didn’t disappoint.
I have personally seen Liam Gallagher live twice with his new band Beady Eye, and can compare that the two Liam’s I have seen could well have been the same person. The characteristics, accents and appearance were uncanny which made the “OASISH” experience more real.
