Preliminary Task.
Initial Ideas.
- School children - Year 10/11
- Mixed Audience - Male and Female
- Local College open days, numbers, application form etc
- Subject Interviews - trying something new - taster days
- "What's next?" - potential title
- Revision tips for GCSE's
- Things to look forward to once you've finished - gig's, prom, cinema, liquid etc
- Balancing school and your social life.
Proposal.
- I will aim my student magazine at a male and female teenage (15/16/17 years old) audience as it will en tale things that they will be wondering about and give them information to how they can progress after school. The typical content will be about what are there next options after finishing school, with the new law stating that they must be in education, my magazine will open up the readers eyes to what's out there. I will include local college interviews, course breakdowns, taster day event information but I will also ink it to their current situation by supporting the audience by giving revision tips and balancing social life with revision.
- For coverlines, I would like something to lure the audience in such as "How to revise and still live your life!" "What to do once you've finished?" "Try Something New!". All of these are exclamatory or a rhetorical question that will get the reader thinking. The title "What's next?" suggests what "all" school graduates are thinking by the time they are in year 10/11.
- Colour schemes and fonts would have to be very unisex as it must appeal to my male and female target audience so colours such as purple and orange that are associated with male and female audiences would appeal to this audience. Also for the flavour of the month its released it will be reflecting that "Halloween" feel.
- My magazine would ideally be released in September/October time due to the fact that school students wouldn't be as tied down with work and revision at this stage of the year.
- My main image will consist of a young female school student in basic school uniform with a brick wall as a plain background. My magazine would be published at the beginning of the academic year to years 10 and 11 to get that younger year group thinking about what they want to do when it gets to their turn.
- On the contents page, I would link the colour scheme and images to the front cover.

Front Cover - First Draft.
This is my first draft of my student front cover. This is the first time I have also been introduced to In Design and I found I could work on it creatively and easily.
This is my final mock up of my contents page for my student magazine. As you can see I have selected to use the same colour scheme, fonts and text boxes to show that the front page and contents are from the same issue and relate to one another.
